Beach Week Day 1: Verdanza in San Juan Puerto Rico

First up in our Beach Week is the newly opened Verdanza Hotel San Juan. Formerly a Holiday Inn, this 222-room property is not even two months old. Some of the fun and funky perks it offers are bike taxis to and from the nearby beach, made-to-order picnic beach lunches and a pillow menu.

Tired of your tunes? Local DJ Barón López customized a playlist for the hotel which all guests may download for free.

The hotel's website doesn't show any images of the room, which makes us a little nervous. But when you're by the beach, how bad can it be?
